Wrestling is on TV tonight, and that just reminded me…
For the past two nights, I’ve had horrible nightmares about being chased.
Thing is, it’s not really me being chased. I’m seeing the dreams through the eyes of others.
In the first dream, I am the good-or-evil twin of WWE superstar, Kane. The real Kane is chasing me.
This is Kane:
In the dream, I look like that and am being chased by that.
It’s all happening in my apartment, so I have the home field advantage. I’m darting around to every window and door, but everything is either locked or malfunctioning. Meanwhile, “real Kane” is gaining on me.
The dream ends with me fiddling with a front door lock that isn’t actually on my real door. It’s a big, cumbersome lock that seems more like an Acme gag. I can’t get it unlocked, and just as “real Kane” turns the corner, I wake up.
In the second dream, I am a Golden Girl. I can’t remember if I was Betty or Rue, but I felt more like Rue.
Only, I wasn’t really Rue. I was just seeing it through Rue’s eyes.
The deal, as I understood it, was this:
Rue is dating an assumed kindly gentlemen. While visiting his house (which looked suspiciously like my junior high school), she’s introduced to his other girlfriend, who’s like 20 years old and seemingly drugged. Like a pretty zombie.
I don’t know what the exact implications were, but Rue (or me, playing Rue) wisely decided to run away.
From there, it was the same as the Kane dream. No doors would unlock. No windows would crack. I’m just running back and forth in this weird house that looks like a school, as Rue McClanahan, while a creepy old guy tries to get me to stop by shouting aggressively comforting things.
I’m going to need a little help figuring these dreams out.
Professional help, I think.
“Chase dreams” are common, but I can’t find any explanations for chase dreams where I star as Rue McClanahan or a 7’ pro-wrestler who controls fire.
My main concern is tonight. First it was Kane, then Rue. If there is a method to this madness, who will be next on the chain?
